NIWBQR ranks MTN LTE network best in Abuja
National Independent Wireless Broadband Quality Reporting (NIWBQR) which measures the quality of customers’ experience in mobile wireless networks in Nigeria, has reported that MTN stood out as having well-deployed LTE network in Abuja.
In the ranking, MTN was followed by Smile Communications in the second place; Ntel and Glo occupied third and fourth places receptively while 9Mobile was ranked fifth.
The report contained the result of a recent LTE deployment RF quality survey conducted by Enextgen Wireless limited.
It was designed to capture the development of 4G Measurement for MTN, Glo, Smile, Ntel, and 9mobile.
The report characterized and quantified the quality of LTE RF deployment along the evaluated routes in Abuja, but also includes information for UMTS/ GSM.
Enextgen Wireless paid for the subscriptions (SIM provisioning) that offer the highest throughput and quality on each of the networks, just like any other subscriber would.
Oyekola Olaosebikan, of Enextgen Wireless said that “as such, our measurement is of the quality of service being offered to paying customers, not some theoretical abstraction or the determination of the quality of a network still in trial@
“On November 6, 7 and 9, 2017, Enextgen Wireless conducted an extensive drive test in Abuja to determine the Radio Frequency quality of the LTE services available to customers in Abuja. The analysis report shows that all service providers but 9Mobile provide contiguous LTE coverage along the drive route. However, only MTN stood out as having well-deployed LTE network.” He added.
Enextgen Wireless limited presents a major opportunity for Wireless Telecommunication companies in Nigeria to demonstrate concern for their customers by addressing identified issues.
