Premier League table: Manchester United cut Man City’s lead to 12 points with Stoke win


Manchester United defeated Stoke City 3-0 on Monday night, to cut Manchester City’s lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points.

Antonio Valencia opened scoring for United as early as the 9th minute, before Anthony Martial doubled their lead before the break.

Romelu Lukaku netted the third for the Red Devils late on, as they put managerless Stoke to the sword.

Jose Mourinho’s men now have 50 points, three more than Liverpool in third place.

City were beaten 4-3 at Liverpool on Sunday, ending their 22-match unbeaten run in the league.

United’s next fixture is away to Burnley, while City welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad this Saturday.
