LaLiga: Zidane reveals why he substituted Ronaldo during Levante draw

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has explained why he took Cristiano Ronaldo off during their 2-2 draw with Levante.

Ronaldo was substituted immediately after Isco made it 2-1 in the 81st minute.

But Giampaolo Pazzini struck a late equalizer, which Zidane admitted left him “disgusted” after the final whistle.

Ronaldo appeared visibly furious as he left the pitch to be replaced by Marco Asensio and hit out at pitch-side photographers focusing on him in the dugout.

“No. It was planned to change him, and that’s all.

“We had the game under control, the most difficult is to score goals. We got to 2-1, but in the end, two mistakes cost us the two goals.

“This year is being difficult for us. We cannot put three or four results together. I am not happy with the result. We were in control of the game, above all the first half, so not happy, of course,” Zidane told beIN SPORTS after the match.
