World Cup Draw: Kanu Wishes Eagles Good Luck As He Heads To Russia


Former Super Eagles captain Nwankwo Kanu has wished Nigeria good luck at the Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup draw holding in Russia, NationReformer.com reports.

Kanu and Austin Okocha are the two former Super Eagles players invited by FIFA to be part of the draw on Friday based on their participation in past World Cup editions and exploits in football.

The former Arsenal striker who tweeted before departing Nigeria for the draw on Thursday featured in three World Cup editions: France ’98, Korea/Japan 2002 and South Africa 2010.

“On the way to Russia for fifa World Cup draws. Goodluck to my dear team Super Eagles Nigeria,” Kanu tweeted.

The Super Eagles who also featured at the 2014 edition in Brazil defeated Chipolopolo of Zambia 1-0 in Uyo in October to qualify for the 2018 edition.

The Super Eagles also played all their qualifying matches without a defeat.
