Transfer news: Fred speaks on £52m move to Manchester United
The Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, popularly known as Fred has been granted permission to be in Manchester on Monday to finalise his £52 million move to United.
Fred, who was in Liverpool on Sunday as Brazil sealed a 2-0 victory over Croatia at Anfield, will report to Old Trafford today, while the rest of his Brazil teammates return to London to continue their World Cup preparations at Tottenham’s training ground.
The 25-year-old is due to return to Brazil’s training camp on Tuesday ahead of their final friendly against Austria next Sunday.
Asked if he will be in Manchester for his medical on Monday, Fred told Globo: “I’m going to talk to the people, meet my friends. I still do not know where I’m going.
“Waiting for him, ‘I’ll still talk to my agents to find out the reality of it.
“I want to focus only on the national team. It’s a unique time, the World Cup.
“We have to try to forget things from outside.”
