I’ve no preferred candidate – Atiku

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar says he does not support any particular candidate over others, but rather supports the emergence of a more virile political party post People’s Democratic Party national convention.

There were insinuations that Atiku, alongside other powerful forces within the PDP such as former president, Goodluck Jonathan and a section of BoT members, were working hard to censure the emergence of Prof. Tunde Adeniran as against Chief Uche Secondus who is reportedly being showcased by some governors.

But Atiku  in a press statement signed by his media office in Abuja yesterday, said as an advocate of internal democracy in a political party system, he  believed that all the aspirants for respective elective positions in the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) are eminently qualified.

There are over 100 aspirants struggling to clinch 21 national positions that have already been shared between the North and South.

Amidst speculations that the delegates had been compromised, the Waziri Adamawa said the challenge before the delegates was to vote according to their conscience.
