Four friends gang-rape 19-year-old girl

Four suspected hoodlums have been arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old girl in Minna, Niger State.

The suspects – Muhammed Sirajo (21), Shafi Muhammed (19) and Muhammed Abubakar (19) and Musa Ilya (16) – were apprehended at the Barakin Salle area of Minna by operatives of the NSCDC on Monday night.

It was learnt that the hoodlums raped the girl after she turned down love advances from one of them.

The boy reportedly mobilised his friends and ambushed the girl on her way home.

Two of the boys held the girl down, one held her legs while they reportedly took turns to have carnal knowledge of her.

A resident, who saw them, invited the NSCDC officials who raced to the scene and arrested the suspects.

When contacted, the state NSCDC Commandant, Mr. Philip Ayuba, confirmed the story and the identities of the suspects.

He said the suspects had confessed to committing the crime, adding that they had been handed over to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution.

Ayuba, however, appealed to the general public to be security conscious, warning that ladies should not walk alone.
