Ekiti PDP financial secretary, Oni regains freedom

The Financial Secretary of Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr J. Kayode Oni, has being released from kidnappers’ den.

Oni was abducted on Saturday at a location between Efon and Erio on his way to Aramoko, the headquarters of Ekiti West Local Government.

The incident happened while the PDP chieftain was returning from Efon where he officiated at the party’s local government congress.

Spokesman of the PDP in the state, Mr Jackson Adebayo confirmed his release on Wednesday.

Adebayo said the PDP chief was set free late on Tuesday night.

He added that “Oni was part of the meeting of the party’s state working committee held on Wednesday.”

The abductors had demanded the sum of N30million ransom for his release.

Adebayo, however, said “no ransom was paid” for the release of the abducted Ekiti PDP official.
