National Career Fair mulls roadshow for 10,000 jobs


This year’s National Career Fair, Nigeria’s biggest annual symposium on career information, business development, employment and economic opportunities for students, young professionals and SMEs, is set to begin on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at the Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos.

Returning for its 6th succession, the Capacity program which is designed to reduce the growing unemployment rate in Nigeria will assemble the gathering of top HR executives, various captains of industries, top organizations, entrepreneurs, to breach the gap between employers and employees. Therefore providing invaluable growth opportunities, mentorship for students, youths, and jobs (white and blue collar) on the spot and consequently for job seekers/interns.

Standing distinct from other symposiums, the 6th edition of the National Career Fair will train students, entrepreneurs, jobseekers in employability skills, excellent customer service, etiquette and other personal development tips on the day of the event in classes presided over by top HR executives who will issue valid certifications to attendees. In a bid to provide instant jobs for jobseekers, the National Career Fair team will be launching the ‘EMPLOY AN INTERN’ CAMPAIGN’

The #employanintern campaign is designed to engage a growing Nigerian workforce positively. The campaign encourages Organizations and individuals to employ interns all around the country on the NCF platform that have been trained in work etiquette and professionalism either on the short or long term basis. The campaign is directed at both established companies and entrepreneurs, thus opening the minds of students, job seekers and youths to a whole new world of job descriptions they never thought existed.

The nationwide tour will begin in Lagos at the Main Auditorium of the prestigious University of Lagos on the 7th of December, 2017; and will engage top professionals who will be present to network with and also create job opportunities for young employable individuals who will be attending the event across all 6 Geo-Political zones of the country.

For a successful 6th edition, the National Career fair is open to partnership with capacity building orientated Organizations, exhibitors, sponsors, vocational training institutes and HR professionals; and also encourages the youth to take advantage of its platform to enhance personal branding by either volunteering for the event in various states or applying for various job and internship opportunities to be provided during the course of the Nationwide tour.
