Shots fired! Numbers Don’t lie, how is ‘Mad Over You’ 3rd on the MTV Base list

So there’s a little drama going on in the music industry at the moment. Last week,  the MTV Base Roundtable to crown the hottest Naija tracks of 2017 was wrapped up and the song “If” by Davido claimed number one spot. Coming right behind Davido’s “If” at Number 2 and 3 are Small Doctor’s “Penalty” and Runtown’s “Mad Over You” respectively.

But the industry is not quite happy and female singer, Tiwa Savage who landed on number 17 spot on the list took to her Instagram to drop a couple of subliminals says, ‘numbers don’t lie, they never give credit, its not a disease to be female in the Naija music industry. 2018 will be for the fans only’.

New numbers have also emerged that shows Runtown’s smash hit song, ‘Mad Over You’ doing amazing numbers way ahead of others with on 57 million views, 7 million streams on spotify while IF by Davido did 54 million views on Youtube, 6 million streams and Small DOctor’s Penalty did 1 million views on Youtube and 300k streams.
