Davido Set To Be The First African-Based Artiste To Perform At The MOBO Awards.. He reacts!


Award-winning Nigerian singer David Adeleke aka Davido is having the best year of his career yet after he was unveiled as one of the performers at the 18th edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.

Aside being nominated in the Best African Act category of the prestigious awards alongside the likes of Eugy, Juls, Maleek Berry, Mr Eazi, Sarkodie, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Wizkid, Davido will become the first Africa-based artiste to perform at the ceremony slated to hold at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on November 29, 2017.

The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ crooner, who recently celebrated his 25th birthday, will join a long list of established artistes that have performed on the MOBO stage among them Usher, John Legend, late Amy Winehouse, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Jay Z and Tina Turner.

well, reacting to the announcement of his upcoming performance at the Awards, Davido took to his Twitter and Instagram page to say; “Whaaattt!!!!!!?? ???????????? can this year get any better !?! Catch me performing live at the @moboawards !!! SEE GOD OHH!! ????”

The MOBO Awards were established in 1996 to recognize and celebrate artists who create “Black” or urban music and is widely regarded as the UK equivalent to the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards and Soul Train Awards.
